Thomas Edison University

Katherine Hackl - Thomas Edison Universitry

The mural over the historic doorway of the Thomas Edison University sitting room in the new George A. Pruitt building is meant to reflect the history of the buildings that formerly sat on this site. The architectural installation of the iconic pillars and cornice mantel were taken from the former building entrance, Glen Cairn Arms. That surround was itself an homage to the building that preceded it, Glen Cairn Mansion. This new tile mural presents an image of that original Mansion along with the former State House dome along with the present day Kuser Mansion, also owned by the University. The tree of knowledge and the University seal compliment this look through the past. The history of this site can be read about further in the informational panels located below the mural in the sitting room.
